This is just another reminder that tomorrow, January 29th, will be another early out day for students. School will dismiss at 1:30 for teacher professional development.
Winter Gear
While the sun is beginning to show its face again, and our temperatures have warmed up a bit, it is still important for students to wear all of their winter gear when they are outside. Please help your child make sure that he/she has boots, hat, gloves, and a warm coat to go outside.
Homework Club
Fourth, fifth and sixth grade students now have the opportunity to participate in Homework Club with Mr. Kraska on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. The club, which runs from 3:00 - 4:00 those days, will give students to finish classroom assignments and/or homework. During that time, Mr. Kraska will be available to answer questions and assist the students.
If you would like your child to be part of Homework Club, you can let me know and I will send a permission form home with your student.
Next week:
In reading we will begin a novel.
In writing we will continue with our free-writing project, with a focus on conventions and word choice.
In math we will begin Unit 8, which looks at area and perimeter.
In social studies we will continue to look at Alaska's government.
In science, students will wrap up their look at variables.
