The end of the quarter is rapidly approaching, and our class is going to be holding a Read In on Friday, December 17. Students are welcome to bring pillows, small blankets, a stuffed animal, and, of course, lots of reading material. The theme of this Read In is going to be "socks" so students are also encouraged to wear wacky, wild socks that day. If you would like to come in to share a favorite piece of writing, please let me know and I will schedule you into our day!
Early Out
Please remember that Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, December 15-17th, are early out days. Students will be dismissed at 1:30 on those days.
Student Teacher
Next semester, our class has the opportunity to host a student teacher. Mrs. Tabatha McClellen will be joining our class in January, and I think she will bring a lot to our classroom. She plans to stop by for a quick visit before the break, and it will be great for the students to get to know her a bit at that time.
Next Week:
In reading, we will finish our unit on questions by wrapping up our novel work.
In math, we will explore division and angles in Unit 6.
In writing, students will finish taking their writing piece through the writing process.
In social studies, we will wrap up our look on Alaska's government.
