Next week is a short week, due to Parent/Teacher conferences. For this short week, students will have the following homework:
Monday - Read for 20 minutes, work on subtraction homework. (A sheet is going home today explaining the requirements).
Tuesday - Read for 20 minutes, work on subtraction homework.
Wednesday - Subtraction homework is due.
On Wednesday we will have a word study assessment over the words they have been working with for a couple of weeks. If students need or would like to practice their words for that assessment, they may work on that for their homework as well.
Parent/Teacher conferences
I'm looking forward to meeting with each of you during Parent/Teacher conferences. It is also nice to have students attend the conferences, as we will be setting some goals for the second quarter. Your child should have brought home a note reminding you of your conference time. If your child has lost that note, you can call the Weller office at 457-1629 and they can remind you, or you can send me an email.
Class party!
We reached 50 points, and the class will be celebrating with a class party next Wednesday afternoon at 2:00. Students are welcome to wear pajamas (please keep in mind the school dress code), and they may bring in a board game and/or a snack to share. Parents are welcome to join us at this event!
Next week:
In reading and writing, students will be working to finish their book report projects in class. Students are making newspaper pages, and should have some great work to show you.
In math, we will continue our work with decimals in Unit 4.
In social studies, we will finish our Alaska regions rotations, and students will be writing a postcard from each of the regions.
