We are well into our math studies for the year, and next week students will begin to have math homework each night Monday through Thursday. Because this homework will follow along with our class studies, students will receive the homework each day, and will be expected to bring it back the following day. My hope with the homework is that it will allow students another chance to practice the math concepts, as well as give parents the chance to see what we are studying in class.
As part of our new math curriculum, students have the opportunity to access math materials online. This includes a digital edition of our math book, the videos that go with our topics of study, and the homework pages. Students have access to everything, so if they want to look ahead or look back, they can do that. The online resources can be a great place to go if students have questions with the homework, or if they lost their homework sheet between school and home.
The students have logged into the math program via PowerSchool, but just in case they've forgotten, here's how to get in:
1. First, go to www.k12northstar.org, which is the school district webpage.
2. On the lefthand column is the link to PowerSchool - login.
3. Students should log into PowerSchool using their username and password.
4. Once in PowerSchool, students can scroll to the bottom of the homepage and find the link for Pearson Courses on the left.
5. Click on that link, which will take them to the math program.
If you have any questions about math homework or how to access the digital math curriculum, please don't hesitate to ask.
School pictures are coming!
Our class will have school pictures taken next Wednesday, September 24 in the morning. If students need another picture packet, please have them stop by the office to pick up another packet.
