We are well into a couple of big projects as we move into this last week of school for 2013. Between our nonfiction reading projects and a science planet project, we are busy! If students have any work, including homework, that is overdue, I will need to have it turned in by Wednesday, December 18 so I have time to grade it. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Blogging away
Students were given a choice of formats for their nonfiction reading project, and many students chose to create a blog post with their information. We are continuing to add to the blog, but there's already a wealth of information on there. If you haven't yet had a chance to check it out, the blog can be found at the Class Blog page on the class website. Students know the password to get in. Parents are welcome to view the posts and join in our conversation by commenting.
Early outs
Please remember that school will be dismissed at 1:30 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week.
Homework for next week:
Because of our projects and the end of the semester, students will only have spelling homework this next week. Spelling spirals are due on Thursday, December 19.
Next week:
In reading, we will wrap up our work on our nonfiction reading reports.
In writing, we will finish our planet exploration proposals.
During our math and science times, students will be working in groups to design a space station that could be used to explore a planet. They will then build a model of their station.
