Our semester is off and running, and it has been nice to get back into the regular routine. Students should be back to their usual homework schedule at this time. If there are any questions about what your child has for homework, don't forget to check the Daily Homework blog.
Space and our Solar System
In Science, we are beginning to study space and our solar system. The students have had many great questions, and this should be a fun unit. Encourage your child to look up at the sky both at night and during the day, as we will be using many of their observations in our class discussions. If your child has anything about space or the solar system that he/she would like to bring in, that would be wonderful.
Pottery
We are still seeking chipped, broken, or unwanted pottery to use for a mosaic art project here at Weller. If you have any tucked away that you would be willing to donate for our project, we would appreciate it.
Next Week:
Mrs. McClellan comes to our class!
In reading, we will continue to look at main ideas and details in nonfiction.
In writing, we will be exploring word choice.
In math, we will wrap up unit 6. Our next unit will look at fractions.
In science, we will be exploring space and our solar system.
