We are fortunate this year to have a microwave in our classroom that students can use to heat up some of their lunch food. Because the microwave is always a popular thing to use, we tend to have a long line, and some students don't have much time to eat their lunch. If students need to bring food to heat up, please have it be something that can be cooked in less than 2 minutes to help us make sure that everyone has time to eat. Thanks for you help with this.
Homework
By now, students have turned in their first week of homework and they can now begin on their second week. I send homework home on Friday, to give students the weekend to complete it if they choose. However, most homework is not due until the following Thursday and Friday, so if students would prefer to do their homework during the week (leaving their weekends free), that is fine as well. Each morning we are writing down the homework in our homework planners, so you can ask you child to show you his/her homework assignments. This week I am adding a reading log, where I'm asking students to read for 80 minutes in the coming week and log their reading.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns about homework, please don't hesitate to contact me.
