We had quite the lovely run of weather, and while we hope that spring is right around the corner, the snow and cold have come back to us. If you could please help your child make sure that he/she has hats, gloves, boots, snowpants, and a winter coat, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help!
Early Out
Next week, Friday, March 5, there will be an early out. Students will be dismissed at 1:30. That time also marks the beginning of Spring Break!
Multiplication tables
We are continuing to explore more complicated concepts in math, and students who have a firm grasp of their multiplication tables find these tasks to be easier. If your child still struggles to recall multiplication facts, a bit of practice at home might be beneficial. Please let me know if you need some flashcards for practice. Students can also play some of the math games we've explored in class, such as Product Pile-up, or they can go to some of the websites found in the Class Resources section of the class website to get some additional practice.
Next Week:
In reading, we will be exploring author's perspective in text.
In writing, we will finish the final copies of our personal stories.
In math, we will continue to look at fractions, decimals and percents.
In science, students will continue to explore the solar system.
In social studies, students will continue to research Alaska's history.
