As you know, our class has several field trips planned for the end of the year. Here is a quick list of trips:
- Ft. Knox Gold Mine on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Thank you to those of you who have volunteered to chaperone! Students who haven't turned in permission slips may still do so. Remember to sign both sides of the permission slip! Students will be eating a late lunch at school this day.
- LilyVale Farm on Friday, May 7, 2010. We are still looking for chaperones for this outing. Students will need to dress for an outdoor experience, so long pants and possibly rain gear are recommended. Students will need to bring their own lunch on this day.
- Bowling at Arctic Bowl on Friday, May 14, 2010. We will be going bowling for the morning. More details and a permission slip will go home next week. Parents are welcome to come!
Next week, on Thursday afternoon, we will be tie dying shirts. Students are asked to bring in a white cotton shirt to die dye. The shirt does not need to be new, but it should be mostly cotton. If there are any parents who would like to come help with this project, please let me know.
Next Week:
- In math, we will be continuing to look at rates.
- In reading, students will be exploring non-fiction.
- In writing, students will continue to look at poetry.
- In science, students will be learning about rocks and minerals.
- In social studies, students will wrap up their look at Alaska's history.
- This will be the last week of word study!
