This week we wrapped up our Solar System unit by working in teams to construct the spacecrafts we used to "rescue" the beings on Titan. On Wednesday, we used a fan to inflate our spacecrafts, and students crawled inside to experience the tight confines of a spacecraft. Talk to your student about what he/she would do differently, and what should be considered by NASA as they develop new spacecrafts.
Monday - (No school) Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. We discussed the history of this holiday, and how many people now use this day as a day of service. Students have been asked to find one thing to do to help someone else, whether it is helping a family member in the home with a small chore, or helping others outside of the home.
