During our science time, students have been listening to messages from someone stranded in our solar system. Each message has contained a clue, and students are working to determine where in the solar system this being is. Once we've determined where to go, students will then work out a rescue plan. Ask your child about the clues so far and his/her prediction for where we'll find the being.
A side note
I will be out of town for the short week next week, so students will be working with a substitute. They are a wonderful class, and I'm confident it will be a good week. Due to my absence, there won't be an Inside Scoop newsletter next week.
Homework for next week:
Monday - Astronomy journal entry, math homework
Tuesday - Astronomy journal entry, math homework
Wednesday - enjoy the long weekend!

During reading, we will be learning a bit about our sun and moon, while also practicing our nonfiction reading skills.
Students will wrap-up the final copies of their Pumpkin Planet stories during writing.
We will finish Unit 8 during our math time. Students will take a test over Unit 8 on Wednesday.
In the afternoon, students will be exploring the solar system a bit more, as well as doing some art projects.
